MY CURLS BOUNCE BACK is a picture book about how much a little African American boy loves his God-given coily, gravity-defying, bouncy hair. He tells his story in the form of a prayer. At the park, while he plays basketball, and as he watches his big sister and friends jump rope, he begins to observe all the different ways his hair can move and be, comparing it to other bouncy, twirling, stretchy, spongy things he sees throughout his day. He's filled with gratitude for his curls that bounce back and concludes with a thank-you prayer.

"Since I have been an adult there has been a resurgence of the Natural Hair Movement in online communities and social media ...There is still a lack of knowledge about Black hair, its care and history, not only by African Americans, but by other cultures as well. A way to build that knowledge is to change the narrative around natural hair."
